These reports suggest that there is a possibility of local infection and there is a definite inflammation.. Are you also having fever ? I will also suggest you to get X ray of Ankle joint to rule out any bony cause for pain and swelling..

It would be better to start with some medicines including antibiotics like cefuroxime, analgesic with anti inflammatory medicine, apply crepe bandage over ankle. Start Ice fomentation locally..

Keep the limb elevated over pillow, avoid walking and standing..
