My daughter is 2.4 years old and she is suffering from severe cough and fever since 2 days . Yesterday morning when she woke up , she had little dried blood on one of the nostril and 1 hour later while she was crying she cough very hard which results in puking up of mucus and I found blood in mucus. We consult paediatrician and he conducted CBC test which comes out normal. And now from since 1 day no such repeated episodes of vomit or blood has occur. But I am tensed why was there blood in the mucus. I have attached pic of blood in mucus. Please help

No need to worry as forceful cough and runny nose can lead to few blood tinged mucus droplets sometimes. If no such repeat episodes are there ,no need to worry. If repeat episodes are there ,do consult.

Hi
Sometimes increased inflammation of delicate tissues in the nose can cause bleeding.since the necessary steps have been already done and it has stopped you can relax
Sometimes forceful blowing of nose may cause blood-staining of mucus. Either it comes out of the nose, or via coughing. It was good that you showed a pediatrician. If this episode recurs, you can contact me via teleconsultation or visit your pediatrician.
Best wishes.
