You report recurrent bloating occurring 1–2 times per week, despite an overall healthy lifestyle and diet. You’ve noticed a clear association with certain foods—such as paneer, curd, toor dal, eggplant, cauliflower, broccoli, and spicy food—which cause your stomach to feel distended, hard, and uncomfortable. Your usual meals include: • Lunch: Dal and rice • Dinner: Roti and sabzi Based on your food triggers and pattern, the likely culprits include: 1. Functional Bloating / IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome - Gas-Predominant) • A common condition where the gut is overly sensitive or reactive to certain foods. • Stress, irregular sleep, and diet changes can worsen symptoms. 2. Food Intolerances • Lactose intolerance: Triggered by paneer and curd. • FODMAP sensitivity: Many of your trigger foods (toor dal, broccoli, cauliflower, eggplant) are high-FODMAP, meaning they ferment in the gut and cause gas. 3. Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) • Excess bacteria in the small intestine ferment undigested carbs—leading to gas, bloating, and distension after eating. Dietary Advice: 1. Trial Low-FODMAP Diet 2. Hydration & Fiber 3. Lifestyle changes
