It is not normal,bleeding will not occur during brushing
CAUSES OF BLEEDING
improper brushing technique
new tooth brush
certain medication can cause infammed gum, xtra sensitive which can make them more susceptible to bleeding
new flossing routine
gum disease (accumulation of plaque n calculus )
TREATMENT
scaling and polishing done carefully by dentist
use soft bristles tooth brush

It's not normal.. because of improper oral hygiene maintenance gingival (gums) inflammation occurs and it leads to bleeding from gums..
Next Steps
Visit your nearby pediatric dentist.. Scaling and polishing might be required..But after that proper maintenance is required by brushing two times daily
