Blackness on neck
I have blackness on my neck just above the shoulders. I m working from home since 8 month. Please suggest some medication or ointment.

Hi Please share pictures of your neck to get an idea of the rash. Could be acanthosis nigricans which is caused commonly due to obesity and insulin resistance. History and laboratory tests are required.

This condition is called Acanthosis nigricans. It is a skin condition that causes a dark discoloration in body folds and creases. It typically affects the armpits, groin and neck. Acanthosis nigricans is a skin condition characterized by areas of dark, velvety discoloration in body folds and creases. The affected skin can become thickened. If u are overweight or obese u are more likely to develop acanthosis nigricans, which often lessens or goes away with weight loss. Treatments include skin lighteners like Retin-A, 20 percent urea, alpha hydroxy acids, and salicylic acid, antibacterial soaps, oral acne medications and laser therapy.
