Black stools during pregnancy
Hi, I am 9 weeks pregnant and from last 2-3 weeks I am passing black/dark shade stools. I have redundant colon and I am on lot of suppliment and hormonal tablets and also taking Heparin injection on stomach. I occasionally had bleeding from anal region. Tried Duphalac but it didn't worked on me . Hence taking cremafin plus. Please let me know if it's a matter of concern or it's due to the medicine I am taking.

Hi Most common cause of black stool in pregnancy is iron tablets. Most doctors inform patients about the symptoms when they start iron tablets. Black stools are problematic if you get dizzy or have drop in hemoglobin and stools are very foul smelling. The main issue for you is to determine whether it is true bleeding or related to iron therapy
