Black/Red itchy rashes at backside
Initially the rashes started as red circular ring structure, itchy. More than 5 years this condition has been on and off. Earlier I used Fluconazole 150 Mg tablet and applied Zole-F ointment. However the condition wasn't improving permanently. 2 years back consulted a dermatologist again and started off with using Onabet/Synphrinox ointment with Lorenol tablet. Continued medicine for almost 3-4 months however condition didn't improve much. Every 2-3 weeks the itchiness returns and become more red and scaly. It has covered large area at the backside and seems ever-growing Please suggest.

You may be suffering from tinea cruris which is fungal infection of the inner thighs, groin and buttocks area. It is also called jock itch. It can be treated by taking four to six weeks of anti fungal treatment which includes tablets along with creams. Do not use soap over that area. Mistreatment with over the counter Steroid containing creams like fourderm, panderm, quadriderm, dermi5, cloben g betnovate, dermikem OC, candid b etc lead to repeated case of recurrence and also side effects due to application. Do not use steroid containing combination creams. Please contact me using online consult option with photos for detailed prescription. Do not delay treatment as it may spread further on your body and also to other people living in the household

If it is a fungal infection, you need to take proper treatment for a period of time....if you stop the treatment with following up with your dermatologist, it can cause the fungus to be still present in skin, which can multiply.... kindly consult online with relevant photographs for proper diagnosis and management
