Black poop
Hello doctor, Iam noticing black or dark green poop in my twin 5.5month old baby.Right now we are giving formula feed,breast feed & rice porridge( our doctor suggested ).We r giving A to Z drops, ferrous ascorbate drops & vitamin D drops daily.They are taking feeding also well.May I know they are having this type of Trouble will it b resolved or did we need to give any medicine for this

Hello. You child is having such stool color due to the iron supplementation and mix between the formula and breast feeds. Its not to worry, this usually happens. As you mentioned that you are giving ferros ascorbate drops, because of this some time there's black color stool. If baby taking orally well, no fever no skin color change(ecchymosis, patch) no need to worry

dear parents nothing to worry baby on formula feed passes greenish stool. iron drops causes stool blackish brown at that moment of stool not all time these are no problem so no treatment or medicine required. for details of weaning consult me on practo app
