It is most likely a splinter hemorrhage due to minor trauma to the nail. Just make sure it's not increasing in size or is present on multiple nails. Otherwise it should just disappear on it's own.

What Could This Black Line Be? 🔹 Mild Causes: ✅ Splinter Hemorrhage: Tiny blood vessel injuries under the nail, often caused by minor trauma you may not recall. ✅ Melanonychia: A harmless increase in melanin deposits in the nail, which can occur naturally or due to friction. 🔹 Serious Causes (if persistent): ⚠️ Fungal Infection: Rarely, fungal infections can mimic black lines. ⚠️ Subungual Melanoma: A type of skin cancer that can cause dark bands on nails. What You Should Do? ✅ Monitor Growth: If the line continues to reduce with nail trimming, it may be harmless. ✅ Check for Symptoms: Look for changes like nail splitting, discoloration around the nail, or bumps under the nail. ✅ Consult a Doctor: If the line persists, worsens, or is accompanied by other symptoms, seek medical advice for proper evaluation. 👍 Like this info if it helped! 💙 📹 Need a detailed video consultation?
