Your daughter is absolutely fine. 90% of babies get physiological jaundice and only a small percentage of them require phototherapy when the bilirubin level crosses the physiological range. It usually peaks at day 7-8 and ends by 2 weeks. Exclusive breastfeeding is best for your baby and sleeping 16-20 hours a day. All u need to confirm and let me know is that was the direct bilirubin 8.9? Indirect bilirubin is expected to rise.
Next Steps
You can continue with breastfeeding and re check bilirubin levels after 48 hours and have a look at both direct and indirect fraction.
Health Tips
You stay cautious about color of urine and stool. Normal color of stool is golden yellow. You need to meet up with pediatrician if the color anytime becomes pale.
