Belly shape change after appendectomy
I had a laparoscopic appendectomy on 13th November. Though I have recovered now, have no gas problems, can walk, but i sometimes have pain in the appendix site. But my main concern is that I feel that my belly shape has changed,as if all the weight has gone down and accumulated in the lower abdomen. As if my lower abdomen has become sulky and saggy. Is it just my illusion or does this really happen after a laparoscopic appendicitis surgery?Thank you for answering my silly yet nagging question.

Dont worry about this nothing happens after lap appendix surgery.Pain is due to wound healing process that will be ok with time.As far as self image is concerned not much to bother about at this young age.Just have good exercise routine if u feel ur gaining weight plus have good eating habits.

When it comes to medicine and human body, nothing is silly. I am happy that you have recovered well but anything that keeps you away from a sound sleeps needs attention. This could very well be nothing but if the thought is nagging then get yourself checked once. I am abdominal wall reconstruction surgeon and I keep seeing distorted abdomen after surgeries, both open and laparoscopy.
