Basic question about antibiotic
What is the ideal course completion period of a stomach infection antibiotic? Is it three days or 5 days? For example for medicines like O2 or Norflox which are taken twice a day. Is it harmful if the person stops taking the antibiotic before the course duration?

Patient's detailed medical history is required. It is recommended to consult a doctor professional through the Practo app or visit a local medical facility for a thorough evaluation. Please keep in mind that detailed medical history is crucial for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Generally 5 days of antibiotics can be taken…It also depends upon how much the patient is responsive to particular antibiotic …you should finish entire course to avoid antibiotic resistance

It is totally subjective and we curate the treatment according to patients presentation and degree of illness! However, in general we would want the patient to complete the course for a minimum 5 days, more-so, to avoid resistance as-well!

ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE When discontinued before FULL course, a person develops resistance to that antibiotic class, which is not an immediate problem ; but in future when he has a serious infection that antibiotic wont work for him. We have very limited number of antibiotics, so this a big problem.
Next Steps
an ideal course is number of dayS an ALLOPATHY ( NOT A PHARMACIST OR DOCTORS OF ALLIED MEDICINE)  doctor prescribes it for u. Because there are so many factors that a doctor has to consider before prescribing it
Health Tips
don't take antibiotics unless a proper doctor prescribes it for you
