I have problem of bad breath and sometimes during brushing its bleeding(very rare) and little bit of sensitivity when I drink or eat cold things.my dentist has done deep cleaning and scaling after which she told me to use gum paint daily for gum massage and mouthwash also daily.I am worried that some people say that gum paints are not good and have side effects like darken teeth etc.what should I do for better results

For bleeding gums scaling is a solution with gumpaint. For bad breath there is n no of reasons.. common is not drinking ample amount of water and long gaps between meals
Next Steps
Dnt just relay on mechanical cleaning. Start doing effective brushing yourself twice a day. Do flossing once a day atleast before bed.

You have been given the right treatment based on your symptoms, but you have to understand that scaling remove the deposits that have accumulated till that time and cannot be removed by the toothbrush. New plaque formation will not stop and has to be taken care of by the patient by meticulous brushing so that the results of scaling can be maintained for a long duration of time. Gum Paints can be prescribed as temporary solutions to reduce the inflammation of the gums by causing astringent like action but they should not be used for a very long time because they do not cure the problem of inflammation as they are not removing the plaque and definitely have the tendency to darken the teeth also. Brushing twice daily with a proper technique and using chlorhexidine based mouthwashes is the best approach for maintaining oral hygiene. Regards.
