Your upper back pain could be due to nerve compression or cervical spondylosis or muscle spasm. You should give hot water fomentation for your back twice a day for 15-20 minutes. You can use Volini gel or spray provided you are not allergic. You should do upper back and neck stretching and strengthening exercises with proper guidance.
Next Steps
If the pain persists or aggrevates you need to consult a Physiotherapist or Orthopaedist for further evaluation and treatment either in person or through video call.

It could be disc bulge compressing the nerve to upper limb. Manual therapist can align the disc back to it's normal place. Good luck.

It could just be a muscle spasm because of the work you are doing. Apply hot water bag or heating pad to the area for 10-15 mins followed by stretching and basic neck and shoulder movements. Try and palpate yourself and see if the pain is radiating to other points like the base of the head or towards lower back. In case that happens just press that specific point with the end of a pen/pencil for 20 seconds and release it. Repeat this 4-5 times for relief. Hope this helps
