Baby sleep
My son is 2.5 month old. His birth weight was 3.15 kg and when he was 2 month old his weight was 4.69kg. My problem is he sleeps around 10hrs in a day. He did not cry but he starts playing after feeding but sleeps very less. I feed him on demand now. I feed around 7-8 times in 24 hrs. Is it ok if he sleeps for 10 hrs in a day? Does it affect his brain development?

You mean 10 hours in a 24 hour period? We normally expect such small babies to sleep for 12 to 14 hours atleast. That being said every baby is different.and even for each baby every week is different. Try and make a good bedtime routine from now itself. Give him a massage, bath ,read something, talk to him,dim the lights ,decrease stimulation 1 hour prior to bed time. Babies sometimes sleep less during growth spurts also . If he is otherwise growing well, active this will resolve on its own.

Sleep is all dependent on the baby. Follow a schedule. Have playtime, bath time, and even nap time all at fixed timings. Will help the child sleep better. For any further queries, book an online consultation. Take care !
