Baby is anemic
My baby is 8 months 25 days old, weighs 8.8 kg. I took her to paediatrician, she told by looking at her skin that she is anemic, she has prescribed her befer drops which contains ferrous ascorbate and folic acid, 1 ml after every alternate day for 1 month. She don't advise for cbc. Is cbc necessary? What all food i can give her at home ?

It is advisable to give iron supplements at this age. Follow the doctor's advice and give them for the period stipulated.

Blood investigations won't require usually... Give iron supplements daily and follow up with your pediatrician...so he or she can see the response of iron supplement...

Anemia has many causes like iron deficiency. It is better to find cause of anemia and it's specific treatment. CBC, serum ferritin may be good preliminary investigations. If iron deficiency anemia, iron syrup should be given 3 to 6 months daily I hope you are breastfeeding. Continue for at least 2 years or more. After 6 months of age solid foods should be given rice, dal, and other soft meshed foods
Health Tips
do not give cow milk if cause of anemia different or no improvement with iron syrup, consult hematologist.

Hi, Most of the time we can see the child and diagnose anaemia,blood test is not a must Give a normal healthy food. You can give green leafy vegetables, dried beans and peas.
