Avoidance coping
I have a family member who needs help but won't ask for it. He had never been diagnosed but it seems that anxiety and panic runs his life in which he uses avoidance coping to the max. In turn, it is costing more than just his relationships with his family but also his health, his self worth, and any future relationships he might make in the future.

I am glad you are concerned and are reaching out for help for your family member. You could help him open up to you. Create a supportive, non judgemental rapport and environment such that they can open up with you. Emotional catharasis is known to be very effective in helping ppl look beyond their troubles. If required help them set up an appointment with a mental health practitioner.
