Hello,
I have a history of asthma. Currently, I am taking:
• Albuterol as needed (2–3 times a day)
• A daily maintenance inhaler
I am planning a trip to Ladakh and would like to know if it is safe for me to take Diamox (Acetazolamide) before and during the trip.

Yes , for sure u can take acetazolamide , as it helps in acclamation in high altitude areas , mountain sickness.
It's better to use inhalational corticosteroid combination in place of albuterol alone as u mentioned u are having a history of asthma .

Diamox (Acetazolamide) is commonly used to help prevent acute mountain sickness and is generally safe in people with asthma. Not interact with inhalers or albuterol. However, some people may experience tingling, increased urination, or rarely allergic reactions. Since you already have asthma, it is important to keep your inhalers with you and continue your usual asthma treatment while traveling.
Next Steps
but albuterol not recommended alone now as treatment for asthmatic control
Yes, you may use Diamox safely for high-altitude prophylaxis alongside your current asthma medications, provided you have no sulfa allergy and your asthma is stable.
Wishing you safe travels and good health.
Sincerely,
Dr. Govind Singh
