Hi, just basic instructions:-
- Replace your daily use toothpaste with this one.
- Apply mild pressure while brushing.
- Use a soft toothbrush.
- Brush in vertical( up and down) or circular motion, don't use horizontal motion( back and forth).
- After brushing rinse your mouth and take a little amount of the toothpaste and apply it like an ointment on the sensitive tooth or teeth. Wait for sometime and rinse it off.
- Brush twice daily.
The common instructions I give my patients for such tooth pastes are- to use this instead of your regular tooth paste for at least one month.
Apply the tooth paste on your teeth, particularly the sensitive area and wait for 1-2 minutes before you start brushing.
Spit out the excess toothpaste after brushing and don't rinse.
done eat or drink for 20 minutes. Hope this was useful.
Squeeze a pea-sized amount of toothpaste onto a soft-bristled toothbrush.
Wet the toothbrush with water to help create a foamy lather.
Gently brush your teeth in a circular motion, paying extra attention to the areas of sensitivity.
Brush for at least two minutes, ensuring that all surfaces of your teeth are thoroughly cleaned.
Spit out the excess toothpaste, but do not rinse your mouth immediately after brushing. This allows the toothpaste to continue providing relief for sensitivity.
Avoid eating or drinking for at least 30 minutes after brushing to allow the toothpaste to take effect.
Use the toothpaste at least twice a day, preferably in the morning and before bed.
Remember, it's essential to follow your dentist's instructions and consult them if you have any specific concerns or questions about using the prescribed toothpaste. They can provide personalized guidance based on your dental health needs.
Put an inch of the toothpaste on to a soft or super soft toothbrush and do tooth brushing for 2 minutes at least. Remember to brush all sensitive areas. Do it at least twice daily for 2-3 weeks till the sensitive areas get better.
Avoid hard bristles tooth brush and don’t brush too hard ( vigorously) on the sensitive areas .
Also avoid taking acidic foods, pickles , vinegar , cola drinks and citric juice directly as they can cause further sensitivity and delay any relief. If at all you have to take these drinks, use a straw to minimize contact with teeth.
To explain in simple terms, , the tooth sensitivity happens when the dentinal tubules of a tooth become exposed due to wearing away of the protective enamel and these desensitizing pastes contain ions that seal them or numb the nerves inside of them.
Hard brushing and acidic foods erode the tooth further and aggravate your problem by negating the benefits of a desensitizing paste.
Next Steps
Get a complete dental check up to rule out any carious lesions and plaque issues.
Switch to a regular tooth paste when your sensitivity improves.
