Continue your PEP medication and do not stop it in between. You have to complete the full course of PEP treatment. Do not overthink about the medicine, and avoid repeatedly searching on Google or ChatGPT about this issue, as it may increase your anxiety. If you still continue to have these problems, you should visit our clinic. We will take your history and examine you properly. Here, Dr. Yuvraj Arora, an infectious disease specialist, diabetologist, and general physician, is available. He also provides good counselling regarding these problems. You can consult him.

Not necessary,  unless you have severe anxiety interrupting your work. Try to get over it by keeping yourself busy. Antianxiety drugs also have drug interaction with duovir n. If feel necessary,  consult a physician physically before starting it.

"It is very common to feel heightened anxiety while taking PEP, both due to the nature of the initial exposure and the physiological side effects of the medications. Duovir-N (Zidovudine, Lamivudine, and Nevirapine) can occasionally cause mood changes or sleep disturbances as side effects. While managing this anxiety is important for your well-being, we must be very careful with drug-drug interactions. Many common anti-anxiety medications (Benzodiazepines) are processed by the same liver enzymes as PEP drugs, which can sometimes lead to increased sedation or decreased effectiveness of the antiviral treatment..
Next Steps
The 19-Day Stretch: "You have completed 9 days, which is excellent. The most critical factor for PEP success is 100% adherence. Do not miss a single dose of your Duovir-N during these final 19 days, as this is your window for protection." Anxiety Management: "Before starting any pharmaceutical anxiety medication, try non-drug interventions like deep breathing exercises, maintaining a strict sleep schedule, and avoiding caffeine, which can mimic the physical symptoms of a panic attack."
Health Tips
To determine which specific anti-anxiety medication is safe to 'co-administer' with Duovir-N without affecting your PEP's success, please book a full consultation session via my Practo profile."

Anxiety during PEP is very common but don’t self-add anxiety medicines — some interact badly with Duovir-N (especially nevirapine). More importantly, Duovir-N is not a recommended PEP regimen and needs to be reviewed urgently. Book a paid consult with me to switch to a safer regimen and address anxiety properly with the right medication if needed.
