Dear friend, I would first advice you to stop reading more about the psychological disorders in the internet. Please get help and advice from professionals. Secondly, GAD is a curable disorder if treated properly and will not reoccur if the followups are done at regular intervals. For further help and guidance feel free to contact us. Wishes

Since I do not know the details of your treatment and the duration and the symptoms that you suffer from, I would answer your question in an empirical way. Please consider taking up Pranayama, Meditation and Yoga seriously under the guidance of a qualified instructor. You may approach the Pranayama Research Centre or any other well established Yoga Institute. Make Yoga your way of life. If you consume alcoholic beverages or you are a smoker, you should give them up completely. Both alcohol and tobacco although appear relaxing, increase the anxiety symptoms. If you are on the prescription of Benzodiazepines such as Diazepam, alprazolam, lorazepam, clonazepam etc., you may discuss with your psychiatrist the possibility of stopping these drugs; long term use of these drugs increases anxiety through withdrawal effects. Psycho surgery is not meant for you. If you want you may consider taking treatment under Alternative systems of medicine such as Homeopathy, Ayurveda or Unani, from qualified doctors in their respective fields. Meanwhile please check your blood for Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Thyroid hormones, etc. If there is any problem it should be corrected through medicines.
