Breath work. Not only does breathing help relax your physical body but it also centers you mentally and spiritually. It’s free and easy. Breathe in for 10 seconds, hold for 10 seconds. Then breathe out for 10 seconds, hold for 10 seconds. Repeat. I promise if you have anxiety and do this, you’ll feel the tension release. Stop trying to fight the feeling or escape it. This is one of the hardest things to do but is life changing. Allow yourself to sit with the feeling. This is extremely difficult at first, especially during a panic attack. But a panic attack will not actually kill you. If you know no matter how scary it is, you’re okay, and you see it through, it will only get easier each time. Eventually you won’t even fear anxiety. Be kind to yourself. Practice self care. Whatever that means to you. I can’t stress how important showing self love is. Positive affirmation and transmuting the anxiety driven thoughts. You can say whatever you want but what worked for me is “I am not my body. I am my soul and my soul is always content.” Or “ I transmute this feeling into unconditional love and send it through my violet flame to mother Gaia to transmute.” You don’t have to say either of these, just whatever works for you. Ground yourself. Get outside and take your shoes off. Sit or stand on the grass. Nature tends to have one of the greatest calming effects.
