Anxiety and Depression
A friend of mine is going through a very depressing phase in her life and is facing several anxiety issues. She doesn't wanna meet any counselors mainly because she can't afford their fee, and also because she can't express herself properly. What sort of advice should I give her, or how can I try to make her feel better?

Hello, It is very heartening to see your concern for your friend. Having a caring friend like you can help her a great degree in managing the difficult times. 1. The description provided by you here is very brief and it is rather difficult to comment on exact degree of severity and the nature of help required. 2. Hence my suggestion for you is to take her to a psychiatrist nearby for assessment and further management. 3. A comprehensive assessment will throw more light on the symptoms and other attributes so that a proper plan can be formulated. 4. If cost is a deterrent you can visit a Goverment or charitable set up. 5. Her inability to express should not be a major problem because the therapist are well trained in facilitating expression and reading into non verbal expression as well. As a friend, please be around her. Make her feel wanted. Support in endeavors of recovery, and please motivate her to seek help. Being available and being supportive is the best you can do. Hope this helps you and your friend. Best wishes.
