Anxiety/ alcohol witdrawl
Is it normal to have severe anxiety. sweaty palms heart palpitations after quitting alcohol. i was a binge drinker 3 times a week 6+ drinks and stopped 5 days ago. i am prescribed lorazapam 1mg for existing anxiety but i dont take it daily. i find myself taking it since i quit as my symptoms have been greater than normal. when will this subside

Sorry to hear about your difficulties.
Generally withdrawal symptoms last 7-8 days. The symptoms you have described are classical withdrawal symptoms. It would be helpful to take lorazepam 1 mg upto 4 times a day and gradually reduce it to 3 times, then 2 times, then once a day and stop.
