1. Antidepressants start to show their action right from 1 st day itself ( at molecular level) Stabilization of biological function starts by 1st week.Clinical ( i.e. visible ) effects usually take 2 to 3 wks It occurs because of neurochemical regulation . Depression is know to be caused by neurochemical  imbalance ( serotonin is a star player) and antidepressant medication helps to cure that imbalance. 2. Antidepressant suit is decided by individual factors . Psychiatrist doctors are specialized in such treatment
