Antidepressant question
Hello. I just have a question I have been wondering and I can't seem to find the answer anywhere online. I was on lexapro for anxiety for a year and I went off of it about 7 months ago. My anxiety has been really bad for about 7 years now. But obviously it has been worse than ever, since quitting the anti anxiety medication due to not using coping skills for a year. I feel like I am starting fresh with severe social anxiety. No coping skills whatsoever. I was just wondering since the life of lexapro is about 6 days.. if I can possibly take the lexapro every 6 days while I'm working on defeating anxiety instead of taking it every day. Just enough to lower my heart rate and not get addicted to it. The withdrawals were completely insane when I weened myself off and I don't want to go through that again when I want to start a family and have to stop taking it. Thank you

Hi there. Good you are reading for your health but please don't experiment on yourself. Life of a molecule is different from blood levels. As I case of your medicine it's 6 days but only if blood level is adequate. Blood level starts falling as soon as you miss or leave ur medicine. It's like if you don't eat food for 6 days certainly your blood sugar levels will drop  so we eat food every day that too 2 to 3 times a day. I hope I have justified your query
