I am using anterior bite plate for overbite correction.
Will it cause my jaw bone to decrease in size once the posterior teeth erupt? My teeth currently look shorter on the right side of my jaw compared to left side, so will the eruption be even on both sides once the treatment is finished?

You have not mentioned your age so it’s difficult to answer all your questions. Still I will try my best.. anterior bite plate basically prevents lower front teeth from moving in Upward direction while back teeth continue to do so.. it’s effect on jaw size depends on growth condition.. if you are below 13 yrs of age, and growth is left, there won’t be any effect on your jaw size or position.. if you are Above 13 and no growth is left then your jaw will rotate back wards.. it increases your face height and reduces your chin projection..

Hi practo user,
Overbite correction, will not cause any changes in jaw bones. Once you complete your treatment eruption will be equal on both sides. Nothing to be worried.
Next Steps
Please you can consult your dentist for more details.
Health Tips
Do complete the treatment. please don't discontinue which will cause jaw pain/ ear pain.
Hope this helps you
