Ankle twisted
Hi, my ankle twisted while playing doctor's are saying it's chip fracture of lateral malleolus it pains alot while I walk and it's little bit swelled please comment is it chip fracture or sprain only?

Need evaluation.. X ray image isn't clear.. It could be ligament avaulsion fracture ( chip fracture) or accessory os subfibulare bone which could be normal.. For now apply a below knee plaster and get a MRI ankle done after a week. .

Both.. its avulsion fracture. Means chip fracture with ligament injury

Chip fracture suggests significant injury/strain on th ligaments.. ideally 3 weeks plaster or a pneumatic walkin boot shud b a better option... walkin ll b painful, if it's nt supported well
