Most likely swelling of ankle and foot is due to dependent edema which is influenced by the gravity.The two medicines you have mentioned usually don't cause edema,but other drugs cause edema.At his age ,other reasons for edema include heart kidneys nutrition disorders for which you can consult with a doctor in your area.
At home elevation of legs with use of pillows, compression socks, restricting salt intake will help.
