Hi doctor My wife is 26yrs old and her weight is 40 kg which is under weight. Kindly advise, how can she gain the weight..!

Here are some helpful tips: Do not fasting and feasting. Never skip any meals. Maintain proper food intervals.Long food gap is not suggested. Do 20 minutes of walk or little bit light exercises for 4 days a week. Try to have six to eight meals in a whole day. Avoid junc foods and extra spicy foods. Hye. For weight gain we need to follow some tips like: 1. Take meals every 2-3 hours, take small and frequent meals. 2. Include smoothies in your diet that are rich in fruits and nuts like dates, banana, chiku etc. 3. Include proteins like paneer,  soya chunks etc. 4.make rotis using 50% besan + 50% wheat. Thank you

Hi, It also depends on her height as well. 40 might not be underweight. If she's absolutely alright, doesn't t feel tired, doesn't fall sick very often, you need not worry. Just let her eat a very good well balanced diet and be active . Nothing to worry. 40 is just a number if everything is fine, it might just be the ideal weight for her, also depends on heredity. Trying weight gain in unnecessarily, can lead to just fat well ght gadbadit n, which inturn can lead to other problems
