Touching of upper and lower teeth

Hi, Should the upper and lower teeth including canines, premolar and molar touch each other when our mouth is at rest and lips closed.?

In Postural rest position, there is 2mm gap is normal between tooth. There is no teeth touch each other during rest position. If it touch during rest ,it will cause constant strain in muscles and cause pain. Lip is closed at rest ,it is called competent lip.if open during rest it called incompetent lips it indicate upper front tooth proclination or parafunctional habits
