f a small part of your tooth has broken off, it's important to consult a dentist for a proper evaluation. While teeth can sometimes naturally wear down over time, a broken tooth is usually a concern that should be addressed by a dental professional. Depending on the extent of the damage, your dentist may recommend: Dental Bonding: If the chip is small, dental bonding might be used to restore the shape of the tooth. Bonding involves applying a tooth-colored resin to the damaged area and shaping it to match the natural tooth. Dental Crown: If a larger portion of the tooth has broken off or if the structural integrity of the tooth is compromised, a dental crown may be recommended. A crown is a custom-made cap that covers the tooth, providing strength and protection. Veneer: For cosmetic purposes, a veneer could be considered if the chip is on a visible front tooth. Veneers are thin shells that cover the front surface of teeth to improve appearance. Evaluation for Teeth Grinding (Bruxism): If you suspect that teeth grinding during sleep is contributing to the issue, your dentist might recommend a nightguard to protect your teeth from further damage. Regular Checkups: If you're experiencing tooth breakage, it's important to have regular dental checkups to monitor the situation and address any concerns promptly. It's recommended that you schedule an appointment with a dentist as soon as possible to determine the best course of action for your specific situation. Ignoring a broken tooth could lead to further damage or complications, so seeking professional advice is advisable.

Hi, Please visit a dentist for evaluation. If you are having night grinding habit, then you need to start wearing a soft splint while sleeping. This is not a serious condition.

Now breaking of tooth can occur due to many reasons. You have to visit a dentist to first find out the reason. It can occur due to the grinding you’re talking about, or caries, etc. After diagnosing the dentist can decide what is best line of treatment. And the extent of fracture. You may require root canal if it is broken or carious and near nerve. Or a filling can be done if not deep. If not near nerve but filling can’t stay a cap/crown can be given. Also you should get a night guard as grinding teeth will lead to attrition of you tooth .
