Usually after wisdom tooth extraction and it was horizontally impacted swelling post surgery for a few days is common. Can you mention the area of swelling? Or send the photograph. Proper evaluation is necessary.

The root canal of the 2nd molar was necessary and also the extraction of wisdom tooth as it could harm the root canal treated tooth in future. So both the treatment approach was right. Some swelling after wisdom tooth extraction is normal and will go away in few days

The upper wisdom tooth does not seem to show any infection. The lower wisdom tooth extraction and the root canal of the tooth ahead of it was required as the decay was too deep for just a filling.
