Regarding diet and protein powder

I am a students and studying far from my home. I currently lived in a hostel where i am unable to get a proper diet. I am a eggetarian. I have joined a gym and want a consultancy regarding protein powders that whether i should take those or not. If yes, then which one will be suitable for me and if no, then what should i eat and what? And is there any side effect too of taking protein powder or not? And if yes, then what are those and how should i stay safe from them ?

As you doing gym keeping it obvious that you doing functional training then you should increase the intake of protien in your diet .As per your weight 1.2 g per kg weight protien is taken . Protien powder should be taken under supervision of nutritionist otherwise if can even disturb the creatinine leaves in the body
