Fluctuating BP readings between automatic and manual machines are extremely common, especially in younger people who are checking BP repeatedly out of concern. Your numbers are actually within the normal physiological range, and the differences you’re seeing have simple explanations. Let me break it down so it makes sense: 1. Automatic vs Manual BP Machines They rarely show the exact same number because they work differently: Automatic machines measure BP based on algorithms and pulse-wave detection Manual readings depend on the doctor’s technique, cuff placement, and stethoscope accuracy A variation of 10–15 mmHg between the two is normal and expected. 2. Your readings are all normal Your values: 120/85 130/90 107/81 110/70 All these are normal physiological variations, not hypertension. Your pulse rate being slightly high can naturally drop the diastolic number that’s just how the heart responds when you are stressed, anxious, or moving around. 3. BP changes throughout the day BP changes with: Stress Anxiety about “checking BP” Sleep Hydration Meals Caffeine Physical activity A young person’s BP will never be constant across readings and it doesn’t have to be. 4. When do we actually worry? We look for: Consistent readings above 140/90 Symptoms like severe headache, breathlessness, chest pain Strong family history of hypertension Obesity or lifestyle risk factors You don’t have any of those from what you’ve written. 5. What you should do next Instead of checking BP randomly multiple times (which will always confuse you), you need a structured plan: Check BP 3 days in a row Measure at the same time every day Sit calmly for 5 minutes before measuring Take two readings, 1 minute apart, and average them That gives the real picture. If you want, I can help you create a proper monitoring plan A personalised approach is the only way to know whether you truly have BP issues or just anxiety-driven fluctuations. Book a private consultation with me on whatsapp at Nine Three Two Six Zero Two Zero Five Three Six, and I’ll guide you step-by-step so you don’t end up checking BP 10 times a day and scaring yourself unnecessarily.

Good day to you sir I understand your concern and it's good to know that you are vigilant and give utmost importance to your health. I am sure this must be distressing causing a hindrance in your day to day activities. I shall try to the best of my abilities to consult you Blood pressure is a parameter which is heavily dependent on the autonomic nervous system which is further dependent on the flight and fight mechanism and emotional response. Many times a single false reading can itself serve as a cause for further falsely elevated readings making your misbelief more and more the truth for you I would like to ask you to answer some questions so that I can rule out possibilities # Have you experienced any headache, dizziness, vision problems, weakness in legs/body # Do you have any history of heart disease, cholesterol, diabetes? Or any family history of the same? BP reading is a clinical sign which holds little to no meaning without history. As this extent of consultation is not feasible via this Q/A forum.
Next Steps
I kindly urge you to book a one to one consultation with your family physician or any physician you are comfortable with so that an extensive workup (history, investigations) can be done.
Health Tips
If you feel I can be of better service to you Feel free to book a one to one consultation via practo app Note: I am sorry for not providing WhatsApp contact henceforth due to issues pertaining to Medico legal protection of both client and the doctor One time consultation fee = Rs 200 Follow up consultation= Rs 100 Hope this advice provides you the much needed insight Wishing you a speedy recovery

Automatic has 10-20 mmHg of variation than manual Manual is accurate. If bp is more than 130/80 then need to act now Stop extra salts , pickles , papads , alcohol , junk food. Because diet is the main core of your body Abnormal diet brings abnormal blood pressures and diabetes and cholesterol inside body. Be active with your body, work physically. No medicines as for now.
