Rabies concern

2024-06-02 17:23:49
I got vaccinated with 3 doses of abhayarub 2 months before due to a dog scratch… now a sick dog sneezed in my face and licked my finger which I washed later and saw there wasn't any cut in my finger… but for the sneeze in my face i am worried… should I take vaccine again for safety because the dog is really sick and left eating it might have rabies I don't know i used to feed it and used to play with him so I definitely touched him and i didn't notice he was sick it has been 15 days now he left eating and eats really less… luckily I was vaccinated with 3 doses and now the dog appears to be sick… Should I take vaccine again for the sneeze in my face and lick in my thumb by the sick dog after 2 months of 3 doses of abhayarub or I am safe… please reply I am worried... What should I do for safety now

Its highly unlikely. Since you are vaccinated you dont have to worry for atleast 1year. And rabies virus is not a droplet/airborne virus, the dog must make contact through bite or licking.
Next Steps
Wash off any saliva the dog might leave on you with soap and water.
