My wife's dentist have done her root canal yesterday of her 3 teeth. However she is not able to chew anything. Not even bread. We called the doctor and he said pain will last till he files the cap. Please let me know if this is normal or the root canal is done in incorrecr way.

Please trust your dr. Root canal treatment sometimes don't leave tooth painless. It takes 3- 4 days sometimes for it to become painless. Do not chew the side of treatment, it aggravates pain and tooth to be kept silent without force for few days after rct. Do consult if she suffers from lot of pain.
Next Steps
warm saline rinses help.

It is normal that the root canal treated tooth shall pain for a couple of days even after that treatment as it is the instrumentation pain,,so ask her to some warm saline(salt) rinses 4-5 times daily and take pain-killers if so necessary,,avoid eating hard food from that side.

Pain will subside within a day or two. But if not then visit your dentist and ask him/her the reason of pain.
