Most probably it could be due to deep caries. .so should visit the dentist and get an X ray done and confirm it. .The tooth might require rct treatment. . Till then take analgesics and antibiotics and do warm saline rinses. .take care

pain could be due to (1) deep decay (2) gum disease (3) faulty brushing making deep groves (4) micro fracture. Treatment would be (1)to fill the cavities if it's not involving pulp, else root canal. (2)If no pulp is involved, a gum surgery might help. If your sleep is getting disturb due to pain, take meds. Visit a dentist. [PS just to avoid these kind complications try visiting a dentist every 6 moths ]

Most probably due to an infection inside tooth..this can be because of caries or a history of trauma to that tooth ...you might require a root canal treatment done to that tooth...not to worry..its a routine procedure and painless...some other uncommon reasons can also cause this kind of pain..you can take a pain killer for a temporary relief and visit your dentist first thing tomorrow for a proper diagnosis and treatment

You might have got trauma/injury in paat with that tooth, as you said pain is severe you have to go with x-rays related to that tooth, your dentist will decide treatment line by seeing x-ray & direct observation
Next Steps
once treatment decided, complete it with regular visits
Health Tips
don't solely depend on only medications
