Pain in right leg knee

2023-02-23 05:29:52
My mother is experiencing pain in right knee and also there is swelling which does not go. The pain is consistent and is there since a month. She is denying that it can be due to any internal injury. She tried applying certain ointments and oils but was of no use, the pain has not subsided. Are there any tests that should be done to determine the reason of pain?

At age of 64, X rays of knee (AP) in standing position  and in 90 degree flexion (Lateral) suffice..

Single best test for evaluation of knee pain which is persistent since a month in your case is to get the knee examined properly by an Orthopedic surgeon..You can get investigations done as suggested by him for confirmation of the diagnosis.. Its always better to get examined clinically and confirm ultimately with some investigation rather than doing all sorts of investigations without a diagnosis!
