If sedation is a problem, ask your consultant to change to night time. If improvement is present, better to continue the same drug and wait for the sedation to improve over time.

Take sertraline at night instead of morning or try switching to Fluxotine.
Next Steps
Consult a psychiatrist, if further considerations are needed.

Some people feel bright, some feel sleepy after sertraline. You can try it and if you feel drowsy take it by night time. Good luck

Sertraline mostly doesnt have an effect on sleep however some patients report decreased sleep so It is generally given in mornings after breakfast. If you are on any other medication, check if that is causing the excessive sleepiness. If not maybe your sleep timing is not optimised.

If it causes drowsiness in daytime, you may shift it to night (post dinner).
