I am glad you recognise that you need to speak to someone and reached out. That is courageous. Negative thoughts are automatic and intrusive. You do not have control over them. If they are consistent and are effecting your day to day life there could be an underlying mental health condition like anxiety or depression. In order to be able to manage your thoughts and emotions and feel confident about yourself you should look at seeking a few therapy sessions. Until then remember that these are thoughts and realise when they come as soon as possible take a few deep breaths and tell yourself that you want to be relaxed and get back to your routine. Also look at taking small steps towards creating a routine where you can vent out your emotions like exercising, doing things you enjoy, connecting with people. But I understand all this can be hard. Hence in order to be supported through all this phase you can connect with a mental health professional

We usually cannot control what we think abt but yes we can train our minds to manage them better perhaps. And that u can achieve by more acceptance and training.

Wellness greetings to you.. I understand your issue and don't worry much about it.Relax and try doing this exercise.Do have a follow-up after trying it for progress.Journal all your thoughts first in written format. Segregation of thoughts under topics is next. Now by this, your thoughts will slow down as you wanna write it all and segregation helps to focus the point where it is moving.
