Medicine for UTI?

2026-07-23 09:57:43
I am having unbearable burning sensation during urination since one day. It started with slight uneasyness a few days ago. Also have darker yellow colour pee. Several years ago when I had UTI, a physician prescribed Urifast. Can I take the same medicine again? If so, what dose and how many days? Thanks

Your symptoms are suggestive of a urinary tract infection (UTI), but other conditions can also cause burning during urination, so an evaluation is recommended

Please consult for appropriate treatment.

You need to go through certain tests :- CBC, KFT, Urine RE. Until the test results arrive drink adequate water, add lemon to it. Chew Tablet Limcee once daily.  Most of the time its because of dehydration. After test results arrive consult a doctor for further medicine.

Do cbc, rft, urine routine Start on syrup citralka as of now and adequate hydration is the key. If urine routine is suggestive of higher pus cells, do urine culture and start on antibiotics Monitor for fever , vomitings , flank pain or worsening of existing symptoms

No , without confirming or without reports only basis of previous history and knowledge you should not directly take medicine. 1st you should go for urine R/M test and next do a proper consultation after that you should take medicine. For symptomatic relief you can take TAB Phenazopyridine 200 mg orally three times daily after meals for up to 2 days (where available). It is a urinary analgesic that relieves burning but does not treat the infection. It can turn urine orange-red which is absolutely fine.
Next Steps
Take Phenazopyridine 200 mg orally three times daily after meals. and go for testing CBC URINE R/M and KFT
Health Tips
Must consult before starting a proper treatment. and don't take any fake medicine.
