Medication for High BP

2017-12-20 05:30:28
Hi Doctor, I have High BP 150/108, I am 33 yrs old and it's genetic. Both parents had high BP. My normal level was 135/90. My family doctor asked me to start using Lotan as the reading went too high. I am worried that if I start using the tablet my body might get addicted to it. I am planning on reducing the levels through exercise and diet. Should I start using the tablets or continue with my exercise and diet? Any advice is appreciated. Also, let me know the side effects of using this Lotan.

Hi Thanks for the query. As you mentioned the BP levels are very high and your parents are also hypertensive so heredity plays an important role here. The medication is prescribed by a doctor by proper physical examination so its highly advisable tgat you take it. If you are trying for weight loss then consult a physician for dose management of the medication and start. For diet related queries feel free to write. Thanks
