In general, do not stop or change your statin on your own based only on a lab report. The decision depends on both your cholesterol levels and your overall cardiovascular risk. The decision to continue, change dose, or stop a statin depends on your target LDL level — and that target varies based on your individual risk. For a person with no heart disease, diabetes, or hypertension, the LDL target is below 130 mg/dL. For someone with diabetes or hypertension, the target is below 100 mg/dL. For someone who has had a heart attack or heart disease, the target is below 70 mg/dL. If your current LDL on Crevast 10 is within the target range for your risk category, the medication is working well and should be continued unless your doctor advises otherwise. If LDL is still above target, the dose may need to be increased. Regarding good values to aim for: Total Cholesterol below 200, HDL (good cholesterol) above 40 (men) or 50 (women), Triglycerides below 150.
