Uric acid is high, but elevated uric acid alone does not mean gout. Treatment depends on whether you have documented gout attacks, kidney stones or other risk factors. Rx/Advice: Increase water intake. Reduce alcohol, sugary drinks and excess red meat/organ meat. Do not continue/start uric-acid medication without medical review. Repeat TSH + Free T4 now, as the previous TSH was 8.69. Thyronorm dose should be decided based on the current results and clinical assessment. For persistent joint pain/swelling, examination is needed to determine whether this is actually gout or another joint problem.

You may consult me on Practo for review of your thyroid and uric acid reports and a personalised treatment plan.

Repeat TSH, T4 and Uric acid and review. A consultation would help assess the reports and decide whether thyroid or uric acid treatment needs adjustment.

9.3 mg/dL = hyperuricemia Joint attack = Gout TSH = 8.69 means hypothyroidism. Do a Free T4 (FT4). Allopurinol is the first line of drugs. It is continued till uric acid is less than 6.
