A haemoglobin of 5 g/dL falls in the range of severe anaemia. The causes of anemia need to be evaluated. You will most probably need to do a peripheral smear of your blood to look for any abnormal blood cells.Your blood tests reveal haemolytic anemia where the blood cells are broken down rapidly. For further appropriate management a detailed history and examination needs to be done by direct consultation
Next Steps
Take Tab.ALBENDAZOLE 400 mg once in the night and then after 2 weeks if not dewormed in the past 6 months. Iron supplementation should be started only after checking serum ferritin levels
Health Tips
Consult in an emergency department or to a physician as severe anemia can be dangerous if left untreated

Hb 5 g/dL is severe anaemia and should not be managed at home. Please go to an emergency department today for repeat CBC, vital assessment and evaluation for bleeding or other causes; urgent treatment, including transfusion, may be needed. The low blood counts and glucose variation also need review of the complete reports and medicines.
Next Steps
Please arrange urgent in-person evaluation now. You can consult and book through Practo, and share the complete CBC reports during the consultation.

Needs evaluation

Hb 5 g/dL is significantly low and indicates severe anemia. This requires prompt medical evaluation, and blood transfusion may be required depending on symptoms and clinical condition. If other blood cell counts are also low, further evaluation for the underlying cause is important. Please consult a physician/visit a hospital at the earliest rather than self-medicating with iron.

A haemoglobin result like yours, together with other parts of your blood count being affected at the same time, should be checked by a doctor today rather than waited on. There are many possible reasons for this pattern, and working out which one applies to you needs an examination and a review of your full report. Please don't start any tablets or tonics on your own before that.
Next Steps
See a general physician today, or go to a hospital emergency department, and carry your complete blood report. They can arrange repeat tests and involve a blood specialist (haematologist) if needed.
Health Tips
Go to emergency care straight away if you feel faint, become breathless while resting, notice your heart racing, or have bleeding that won't stop.
