Fever with joint pain could be due to many causes:-
• Viral Fever (e.g., Dengue, Chikungunya, Influenza) – Common with body aches, joint pain, and high fever
• Bacterial Infections (e.g., Septic Arthritis, Rheumatic Fever, Brucellosis, Typhoid Fever) – If prolonged fever, localized joint pain, or swelling
• Autoimmune Disorders (e.g., Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) – If chronic joint pain, morning stiffness, rash
• Post-Viral Arthropathy (e.g., Chikungunya-related arthritis) – If joint pain persists after fever subsides
For sumptomatic management you can take:-
1. Antipyretic & Pain Relief:
• Paracetamol 500–650 mg every 6-8 hours as needed
• If pain is severe, Ibuprofen 400 mg every 8 hours with food
2. Hydration & Rest:
• Drink plenty of fluids (water, ORS, soup)
• Get adequate rest
3. Anti-inflammatory (if swelling or severe joint pain):
• Naproxen 250–500 mg twice daily (if no gastric issues)
• OR Diclofenac 50 mg twice daily after food
• If rheumatoid cause suspected: Consult a specialist
4. Muscle Relaxant (if stiffness is present):
• Thiocolchicoside 4 mg twice daily
