There could be many reasons contributing to the exhaustion and singling out screen time alone may not be correct. Does the person feel quite energetic on weekends and holidays, assuming the screen time is work related. So a thorough assessment ia consultation is better than assuming the first obvious reason

Yes, this is quite common. Spending long hours on screens can lead to mental fatigue, eye strain and constant cognitive overload. Your brain is continuously processing information, switching attention and responding to notifications, so by the end of the day you may feel exhausted internally even without much physical activity. Try taking short screen-free breaks during the day, following the 20-20-20 rule, and giving yourself 20–30 minutes of quiet time before expecting yourself to be productive in the evening. Also, avoid immediately switching from work screens to social media. If this exhaustion is happening regularly even with adequate sleep and breaks, it may be worth exploring stress, sleep quality or other physical factors with a professional. Feeling this drained by evening isn't unusual with long screen time, and you're not alone in facing it. Poor sleep, skipped breaks and eye strain often add up together to cause it.
Next Steps
Take a short break from the screen every hour and stay hydrated through the day. Also check that you're getting enough sound sleep at night.
Health Tips
If it doesn't improve or new symptoms show up, please see a general physician to rule out other causes.
