Hey there! I understand how difficult it might be for you to deal with low self esteem and having frequent outbursts. Let me tell you that you have done the right thing by reaching out for help because this is the most important step that many people miss. So know that this is your first step to work on your mental health wellbeing. I do understand how life gets difficult at times and makes us feel like we are not important, but it is important for you to know that you are loved by your support group. Whether it consists of your family or friends or both, if you really explore your thoughts, I am sure that you would find at least a couple of people who helped you through your difficult times because they love you. However, I want you to know that it is okay you feel this way sometimes, so let yourself feel everything you are feeling.
The best step for you to take is to consult a mental health professional. A psychologist will be able to look into all your concerns in detail and formulate a specific treatment plan for you. He/she will also be able to guide you towards taking care of your mental health better and help you replace unhealthy thought patterns with healthy ones. There are different types of therapy including cognitive behavioural therapy and your therapist will be able to choose the right type of therapy for you. In the meanwhile here are some things you could take while figuring out your therapy plan:
Practise mindfulness- Even practising about ten to fifteen minutes of mindfulness a day will help you feel better and calmer and leave you feeling positive.
Explore why you feel unimportant - Try to think of the roots. When did you first start feeling that way? Was there a specific reason why you felt that way? Ask yourself these questions and try to figure out the reasons you feel this way.
Journaling - When you feel empty or alone write down your thoughts and feelings. This will not only help you to vent out pent up feelings but also help you to reflect on your thoughts.
Do things you love - Whether it is cooking that you enjoy or dancing, make sure you do more of the things you love. You can also try setting small goals for yourself and achieving them. This will give you a sense of achievement.
Take care! You are loved and you have got this!
