In IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), diet should focus on reducing inflammation and preventing flare-ups. Simple, easily digestible foods work best, especially during active symptoms. Foods to Avoid (especially during flare-ups): - Very spicy, oily, and deep-fried foods - Heavy gravies and excess mustard oil - Raw salads and high-fiber foods during active symptoms - Processed snacks, sweets, and carbonated drinks - Excess tea, coffee, and full-fat dairy if not tolerated Foods to Include (as tolerated): - Soft, well-cooked rice - Light, well-cooked dals - Boiled or lightly cooked vegetables - Steamed or lightly cooked fish (if non-vegetarian) - Curd, if tolerated - Adequate fluids and simple   home-cooked meals
